STEPHEN S. ULREY, farmer, P.O. North Manchester, son of John A. and Sarah Ulrey, was born in Kosciusko County, Ind., August 30, 1838. His parents were natives of Montgomery County, Ohio. Stephen Ulrey was married, April 18, 1869, to Mary J. Fridle, a native of Indiana and daughter of Jacob and Sarah (Crill) Fridle. Her father was born in Virginia, and her mother in Ohio. Mr. Ulrey and wife are the parents of seven children, six of whom are now living, viz.: Alvin, Calvin, Sarah E., Rhoda, Verna and Amsey. Mr. Ulrey is a minister of the German Baptist denomination, and his family are members of that church. He served as Assessor in Kosciusko County, and was appointed Land Appraiser for the township in which he now resides in 1880. He has a fine farm of 160 acres in this county.
