Meyer Brothers Operate Motor Firm, Liberty Mills
Meyer Motor in Liberty Mills traces its history to a general repair garage opened by Arthur and Herbert Coblentz in 1927.
The repair shop later picked up dealerships for GMC Trucks and Allis-Chalmers farm equipment.
Donald and Charles Meyer became owners of the firm in January, 1965. They continue to handle the Allis-Chalmers and GMC lines and make special note of the repair and service operation they offer their customers.
Charles Meyer worked in the Coblentz garage beginning in 1960 and Donald joined him when they purchased the facility in 1965. Both had been engaged in farming prior to their garage ownership.
The garage has four employees in addition to Charles and Don. Charles and his family live in Liberty Mills beside the garage while Donald and his wife and three children live in North Manchester.
