Wetzel Insurance Operated Out Of Home 7 Years

Wetzel Insurance Agency was founded by Thomas Wetzel in North Manchester in 1928.

The business which has grown into one of the outstanding agencies in the area was operated out of the Wetzel home for its first seven years in operation.

As the Wetzel Agency prospered office space became necessary. In 1935 space became available in the rear of John Isenbarger's business and Wetzel moved to the Main Street location.

Later, the present day Wible building became available and Wetzel purchased it. His office was on the second floor of the building until March 3, 1965 when the agency moved to its present North Wayne Street location.

Raymond Kauffman joined the agency in September, 1957. He is a C.P.C.U. and a past president of the Indiana Insurance Agents Association. Wetzel is also a past president of the association.

Donald Brookins also serves as an insurance agent having joined the agency in February, 1967.

Other employees of the agency include Mrs. Kathleen Ruse, Mrs. Nancy Frantz, Mrs. Pat Lendermon, Mrs. Joyce House, and Mrs. Shirley Williams.
