John P. Young.
Death came to John P. Young Wednesday evening of last week. He had been sick for a long time and for several weeks his death was almost momentarily expected. He died at the home of his son, James Young, where he had been living for some time. Funeral took place Friday afternoon from the First Brethren church conducted by Rev. G.T. Ronk. Burial was made in the Cripe cemetery west of town.
Deceased was born in Stark county, Ohio, January 3, 1831. Died June 21, 1911 at the age of 80 years, 4 months and 22 days. march 10, 1861 he was married to Mary Mishler, who died about seventeen years ago. Since then he has made his home most of the time with his children. Mr. Young was a resident of this place for about forty years and was well known throughout the community, being one of the earliest carriage and sign painters in this locality, a trade which he followed until compelled to quit on account of bad health. He is survived by three sons and one daughter, James, John and William Young and Mrs. Barto Rizzo. He also leaves one brother, one sister, eight grand children and other relatives. For more than twenty years deceased was a member of the Brethren church and as a citizen had the respect of all who knew him.
