Alexis Audra Longo (1913-2004)
Born in Laketon, IN on February 2, 1913; died on January 21, 2004. She married Louis L. Longo in Wabash on April 19, 1934. In addition to her
husband, she is survived by her daughter, Carole L. Hankel of Dayton, Ohio; her
grandson, Michael Hankel, also of Dayton; her granddaughter, Lisa (Thomas)
Locascio of Elk Grove Village, Illinois; her two great-granddaughters, Christina
Alexis and Amanda Elizabeth Locascio, both of Elk Grove Village. She was
preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Carroll; her sister, Dorothy Bixenman;
and two half-brothers.
Alexis and her husband owned and operated Louie's Candy Kitchen in North
Manchester from 1934 until 2003. Her expertise was hand-dipped chocolates. The
Longos summered at their cottage at Lake Tippecanoe.
She was a 1931 graduate of Laketon High School and attended nursing school at
St. Vincent's Hospital in Toledo, Ohio.

North Manchester.
