Eugene Bailey, 61, North Manchester, IN died at 2:30 a.m. Sunday,
September 23, 2012 at his residence. He was born May 21, 1951 at McKenzie,
Alabama to Fred & Edna (Hayes) Bailey. Al Bailey, known also as "Gene"
graduated from Buchanan (MI) High School in 1969. He served his country in
the United States Navy from 1971- 1973. He held degrees from Western
Michigan University and Purdue University. On July 6, 1972 he married
Teresa Snook. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Aaron (Susan)
Bailey, and a daughter, Heather (Cameron) Baber. One of his greatest joys
in life were his grandchildren, Tanner, Tucker, Evan, Tatum and Ellie.
Also surviving are three brothers, Steve (Linda) Bailey, Wake Village, TX; Jeff
(Sarah) Bailey, Buchanan, MI; Michael (Melinda) Bailey, Niles, MI. Three
sisters, Brenda Thames, Wright City, MO; Sheila (Philip) Morris, O'Fallon, MO;
Janice (Howard) Carter, Niles, MI. One sister, Patricia Stokes, is deceased.
For over 25 years he taught shop and coached at Manchester High School and
Manchester Junior High, nearly 20 of which he was head football coach for
Manchester High School. Al was a member and elder of Manchester Bible
Church. Services will be held Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at
McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Pastor
Matthew Staton and Pat Powers will officiate. Friends and family may call
on Wednesday from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary. Committal service
and burial will be Friday, September 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Ridge
Cemetery, Buchanan, MI.
