Bob Butterbaugh (1923-2001)
Bob Butterbaugh, 78, of rural North Manchester, died at 4:12pm, Tuesday, October 23, 2001, at his residence. He was born October 22, 1923, in Wabash County, IN to Ray H. and Hazel (Miller) Butterbaugh.
He was a 1941 graduate of Laketon High School, Laketon, IN. He worked in production at Honeywell Corporation, and Deihl Machines, both of Wabash, and also drove school bus for the Manchester School System for 31 years. He also owned and operated Butterbaugh Insurance Agency for several years. He showed registered Hampshire Hogs at the State Fair for 22 years, and was a member of the Manchester United Methodist Church.
He married Ethel Mae Conrad on May 20, 1942 in Wabash County, she died June 4, 1970. He then married Eunice Hanley on September 19, 1971, she survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Roger (Nancy) Burch, West Palm Beach, FL, and a son, Jon B. Butterbaugh, North Manchester; 3 sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Edna Mae) Shewman, Akron, IN, Mrs. Keith (Cleo) Wagoner, and Mrs. Eldon (Marianne) Fruitt, both of North Manchester; 3 grandsons, Dusty Butterbaugh, Warsaw, Matt Burch, North Manchester, and Richard Burch, Fort Wayne; 1 step grandson Jess Falcone, North Manchester, and one step granddaughter, Mrs. Shane (Andrea) Greer, North Manchester. 2 brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 26, 2001, at 10:30am at the North Manchester United Methodist Church. Pastor Fred Bishop and Rev. Kurt Stout will officiate, and burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Servia. Friends may call, Thursday, October 25, 2001 from 2-8pm at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, 207 West Main St., North Manchester.
