MRS. SALA DIED SUNDAY EVENING

Mrs. Clara Sala died about seven o'clock Sunday evening at the Wabash hospital. She fell and broke her hip at her home several weeks ago. Sunday evening about six o'clock it is thought a blood clot formed, and she died a short time later. The body is at the family home at 504 North Sycamore and the funeral will be held there Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock. The Rev. Homer Ogle will conduct the service and burial will be in Oaklawn cemetery.

Mrs. Sala was a daughter of A.B. and Amanda McFann. Her parents located in Liberty Mills in an early day, and Mr. McFann was a band leader in the Civil war. Later he directed several bands at Liberty Mills that were famous in their day. She married Albert Sala and they lived for a number of years at Anderson, Summitville, and Winchester. Later they returned to North Manchester where Mr. Sala purchased the Gribben drug store. He operated it until his death, and it was then sold to J.B. Marks & Son. Two children born to them died in infancy. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Frank Bonewitz of North Manchester and Mrs. Sibyl Sheir of New York city. Another sister, Mrs. Laura Lower, died recently. Mrs. Sala was a member of the Pythian sisters.
