Delta Deane Doran Schutz (1918-2005)
Delta D. Schutz, 86, died Thursday, March 10, 2005, at 11:15 a.m. at the home of
her daughter in Bloomington, Indiana. Mrs. Schutz was born October 11, 1918 in
Warsaw, Indiana to Virgil C. and Blanche E. (Eherenman) Doran. She married
Donald Schutz in North Manchester on October 16, 1943; he died October 19, 1995.
Delta was a 1935 graduate of Burket High School and earned her Bachelor's of
Science degree in Music Education from Manchester College. She also studied
music at the University of Michigan.
She was a music and English teacher and a homemaker. She worked part-time at Schutz Brothers of North Manchester. She was a member of the First Brethren Church of North Manchester where she directed the choir for 35 years. She was the president and state officer of Tri-Kappa Sorority. She directed the Warsaw County Chorus from 1939-1942 and the Wabash County Chorus from 1967-1989.
Mrs. Schutz was a former president of the North
Manchester Civic Symphony Society, a past member of the North Manchester Library
Board, North Manchester Community Foundation, and the Peabody Foundation.
Preferred memorial is the Tri-Kappa Endowment Fund.
