Mrs. Elizabeth Place Comstock died last evening at the home of her son Charles Comstock between this city and Liberty Mills after an extended illness. Mrs. Comstock was the widow of Rev. William Comstock, for years a M.E. minister and located in this county when he became unable to preach. Mrs. Comstock was born in Ohio on March 11, 1834 and was nearly eighty three years of age at the time of her death. She removed to this county when but a girl with her parents. In 1858 she was married to William Comstock at Liberty Mills. During his life they lived at Middlebury, Inwood, Waterloo and Albion where Rev. Mr. Comstock had charge of the M.E. work as pastor. In 1873 they removed to the farm where she died, because of the illness of her husband. He died there in 1875 and she since resided there with her son. She was the mother of four children three of whom survive. Charles and Miss Mattie at home and Mrs. (Rev.) Forrest Beers of S. Amenia, NY, three grandchildren and one brother Francis Place of Boston survive. ...
