Marie E. Holsinger (1918-2001)

Marie E. Holsinger, 83, Timbercrest Church of the Brethren Home, North Manchester died at 5:30am Friday, May 18, 2001, at Timbercrest.

She was born Feb. 2, 1918 in Darke Co., Ohio, the daughter of Raymond M. and May (Brumbaugh) Lantis. She married Clyde William Holsinger June 2, 1941 in North Manchester. He died April 15, 1975.

She was a retired Manchester High School business teacher. She received a bachelor's degree from Manchester College in 1940 and a master's degree from Ball State University. She was a member of the North Manchester Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Gregory (Kay) Holsinger Faris, Mesa, AZ; a son, John W. (Valerie) Holsinger, Hong Kong; one sister, Ruth Felts, Dixon, IL; one brother, John M. Lantis, Orleans; and two grandchildren, Nicholas Faris and Jacquelyn Faris, both of Mesa, AZ. One brother and one sister are deceased.

The funeral will be at Timbercrest Chapel on Tuesday and the visitation will be at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel on Monday. Pastor Susan Boyer will officiate at the funeral. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Manchester Church of the Brethren Home, the Manchester Church of the Brethren, or the Manchester College Clyde W. Holsinger Memorial Scholarship Fund.
