Valerie Oppenheim Funeral
Set For Tuesday At Warsaw
Mrs. Valerie D. Oppenheim, 72, Lake Tippecanoe, Rt. 2, Leesburg, widow of the late Jean Oppenheim of Oppenheim's Department Store, died Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital at South Bend. She had been ill several days and hospitalized one day.
Funeral services for Mrs. Oppenheim will be conducted at the Landis-Chammess Funeral Home at Warsaw, Tuesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Homer R. Ogle, assisted by the Rev. Daniel Hamlin, will officiate and burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Oppenheim was the daughter of Allen and Felixita Busch Dohner, and was born at Collamer June 8, 1898.
She was married to Jean Oppenheim at Indianapolis June 19, 1922, and he died March 31, 1949. Mrs. Oppenheim was associated with Oppenheim's Department Store, and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Tri Kappa Sorority and Tippecanoe County Club. She moved from North Manchester to Tippecanoe in 1952.
Survivors include one son, Phillip Oppenheim of Oppenheim's Department Store; one daughter, Mrs. Al (Barbara) Eisenstein, Syosset, Long Island, New York; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Oppenheim's Store will be closed all day Tuesday.
