            Monday October 7th to Thursday October 10th, 2013 Pigeon Forge and Smokey Mountains

            Saturday December 7, 2013, Purdue Christmas Show at Purdue University

 

THE SHAKER VILLAGE TRIP DID NOT DRAW ENOUGH INTEREST AND HAS BEEN CANCELLED.  Enclosed is information about a trip to Pigeon Forge and Smokey Mountains in October.  There are still seven spots available for the annual Christmas Show, in December, by the Purdue Music Organization at the Hall of Music on the Purdue Campus.

 

 

THE Pigeon Forge TRIP COST IS:

$495.00 PER PERSON DOUBLE OCCUPANCY

$650.00 PER PERSON SINGLE OCCUPANCY (I will help you combine to make a double if you are interested)

 

DECEMBER ITINERARY:

Our December trip will be a one day trip to see the Christmas Show with dinner at Christos New City Grill in West Lafayette.

 

 THE PURDUE CHRISTMAS SHOW COST IS:

$70.00 PERSON

 

Review the itinerary and if you are interested please send me your deposit(s) as follows:

Pigeon Forge trip deposit is $100.00 per person,

Purdue trip deposit is $25.00 per person.

Please make your checks out to NORTH MANCHESTER HISTORICAL SOCIETY and send them to me by August 15, 2013.  It would be a big help if you could respond by August 1st.

Smoky Mountain October  - Pigeon Forge, TN

October 7 – 10, 2013

 

DAY 1 – Mon. – Oct. 7

                                Travel to Pigeon Forge, TN  ( approx. 7.5 hr. drive time plus rest stops and lunch stop ( on your                                   own)

 

4:00pm -             Check into Governor’s Inn  – luggage handling included

                                                ( 121 Nascar Dr / Sevierville, TN / 865-428-1721 )

5:00pm -              Depart for Apple Barn Complex to browse the shops

( Apple Barn & Cider Mill/ Candy Shop / The Winery  / Christmas Shop )

6:25pm -              Group meets on the porch of The Applewood Farmhouse Grill ( next to Christmas Shop )

6:30pm -              Dinner at Applewood Farmhouse Grill   - where you will be able to choose from 5 entrees.

                                               

DAY 2 – Tues. – Oct. 8

                                Deluxe continental breakfast at hotel before you begin today’s activities.

7:40am  -              Depart hotel for Gatlinburg

8:00am -               Visit/Tour  Christ in the Smokies   

 

                                After your visit to Christ in the Smokies,  you will be met in the parking lot by your step-on guide

                                  and will proceed on a narrated driving tour of the Smoky Mountain National Park. You will stop

                                  at the Top of Old Smoky ( Newfound Gap ) for a photo-op and you can stand with one foot in

                                  Tennessee and one in North Carolina.  Other stop(s) as traffic allows.

 

 

 

After the Mountain Tour is over, you will have free time to have lunch on your own and browse in either Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge.  If you were to browse Gatlinburg you could stop into Ole Smoky Moonshine ( they let you taste and they have several flavors )

 

5:30pm -              Dinner at  Bullfish Grill Restaurant  ( you will be able to order from limited group menu – with

                                                From such as:  Herb Encrusted Prime Rib / Bullfish Sirloin / Chicken Florentine /

                                                Parmesan Crusted Tilapia / Bullfish Chicken Pasta / Baby Back Rib Platter)

 

7:25pm -              Arrive at the Comedy Barn Theater – family comedy variety show

 

                                Return to hotel

 

  

DAY 3 – Wed. – Oct. 9

Deluxe continental breakfast at hotel before you begin today’s activities.             (over)

Today is your day for Dollywood Theme Park  - the Park opens at 9:00am

                                This time of the year is the Southern Gospel & Harvest Celebration which means you will be able 

                                to see extra displays of handmade arts and crafts from visiting artisans from across the country.

                                Also, special gospel music groups will be at various venues around the park.  All Gospel music 

                              shows are included in the price of admission to the park.

 

  

7:25pm -              Arrive at Hatfield & McCoy Dinner & Show -  Action packed full of music, dancing and comedy.

                                   

 

DAY 4  - Thurs. – Oct. 10

                                Deluxe continental breakfast at hotel before you depart for home

 

                              Lunch at restored Zaharakos Ice Cream Parlor followed by a tour of Columbus with a step on                                                        guide to showcase the cities award winning architecture.

 

                                Arrive back in North Manchester around 8:00pm.
