MICHAEL FRANTZ LINEAGE

 From the files of the Harold Miller Family; transcribed by Nancy J. Reed, January 2009.

Generation 1.  (1) Michael Frantz was born in Switzerland, Sep. 1, 1687 and came to America Sep. 30, 1727 in the ship Molly, John Hodgerson, master, from Rotterdam, last from Peal.  Settled in Lancaster County, Pa.  Was baptized into the Brethren Church at Conestoga, Sep. 19, 1734 or 1739.  There were then 20 members at that place.  He became their first minister at that place.  Afterwards ordained Elder and at the time of his death, 1748, the church had increased to 200 members.     Aged 61 years.

 Generation 2.  (2) Michael Frantz, son of (1) Michael, was born in Germany in 1725, came to America with his father, Sep. 30, 1727.  He was afterward married to a Magdalena Gug, and to them was born 8 sons and 1 daughter.  Sometime moved to Botetourt County, Va. Where he died in 1807.      Children:

 3.  (1) Christian Frantz, son of (2) Michael was born about 1766, married to Mary Garst.    He was a minister of the German Baptist Church and the first ordained Elder in the Do(a)nelscreek District, Clark County, OH.  Christian died March 6, 1850.  His wife, Mary died Aug, 1838.  They were buried in the graveyard on the south of the N.E. quarter of Section No. 7 in Pike Twp.  To them were born:

 Generation 4.  (1) Jacob  Frantz, son of (1) Christian Frantz was born March 22, 1784, was married March 22, 1813 to Sarah Ebersole, who was born about 1789.  Jacob died Dec. 19, 1854, Sarah died Sep. 27, 1855.  They died in Clark County, OH., and were buried in the same graveyard as was (1) Christian and according to their request only rough stones mark their graves.  Age of Jacob 67 years, 8 months & 2 days.  To them were born: 

           Generation 5.   John Frantz, son of (1) Jacob was born July 18, 1815, was married Jun. 23, 1839 to Susan Frantz who was born Jun. 23, 1820.  John died Dec. 2, 1853.  Susan married again to J. Hay on Aug. 28, 1860.  Hay was born Mar. 8, 1808, died Aug. 24, 1880.  Children: 

Generation 6.  Catharine “Katy” Frantz, born Aug. 15, 1840, died Jun. 5, 1924, aged 83 years, 9 months, 19 days; married March 18, 1866 to Martin Hay born June 10, 1846 & died March 14, 1915, aged 68 years, 9 months 4 days.  Children:
